Which Of these Vacations Suits You Best?

Vacations are probably the one time of year when we really
get the chance to bring our families together and go do
something interesting and fun. With normal workaday life, we
may loose touch with family and friends, spending our days
with our nose to the grindstone and our eyes on the bank
account. Vacation is an excuse to get away from all that,
and often from our normal homes and lifestyles, heading out
to see the world with refreshed eyes. Whether you have a lot
of money, just a little, or somewhere in between, there's a
restful and enjoyable vacation that you can afford.
Even if you don't have all the money in the world, many
cruise lines today offer trips that almost anyone can
afford. They're not just for rich folks anymore. You can
enjoy a short four day cruise on a luxury liner to the
Bahamas or Jamaica for under a thousand dollars a person
depending on the time of year you choose to go. Cruise ships
offer all you can eat buffets, usually for free, games,
swimming pools, and of course, lots of fresh sea air. They
usually offer programs for both adults and children, as well
as live theater and group activities.
Another inexpensive way to get away from the world for a bit
is to try camping in one of the many national wilderness
areas located throughout the United States. You can find all
sorts of camping areas, from back country sites with only a
fire ring to full trailer hookups that let you bring your
home with you. Adults and children of all ages enjoy getting
out into nature, hiking, swimming, and enjoying the sounds
of the wilderness. These trips are usually very affordable
once equipment has been bought, as national parks have small
fees, and some places are completely free.
If you have more time and money to spend, look into a couple
of weeks in Europe. Although initial airfare can be somewhat
expensive, travel within Europe is usually affordable by
rail. Your American driving license is valid in any country
in Europe, and most major car leasing companies have a
presence in the larger airports in France, Germany, Italy,
and so on. It used to be difficult to work the British Isles
into a short tour of Europe, but now that the Chunnel has
been completed, you can drive between there and the
continent, making it very convenient.
Of course, for some people the very best vacation is staying
at home. People who travel for a living sometimes just like
the freedom of not going anywhere for a week or two. It
doesn't matter if your idea of the perfect vacation is lying
on your sofa watching videos or lying in the sun on the
beach, there's an affordable way for you to do it. Romantic,
idyllic, bucolic, or bustling, vacations come in all
different sizes. This year, pack up the family and find the
one that is the perfect fit for you.
