A holiday based accommodation program that is
intended for vacationers who take regular holidays
every year is called a timeshare. Timeshares are
not new; in fact they have been around for a long
time. They are especially great for those who want
to have a luxury holiday in the Caribbean, Fiji,
or even the magnificent Hawaii.
Essentially, timeshares work in this way: a group
of people (who may or may not necessarily know
each other) show some interest in a vacation
property - a resort, a cabin, a house, a
condominium. Each person or couple puts in a
percentage of the purchase price (known as their
share), along with some extra funds which are used
for the annual maintenance and upkeep of the
property.
The usage of the timeshare property (ie. how much
time each person/couple gets to use the property)
is then split up amongst the individuals/couples
according to the certain proportion that they are
entitled to, of weeks/months throughout the year.
So if for instance you had put the money in that
was equal to 4 weeks time share then you would
have the property for four weeks of that year.
Buying into timeshare property that you love, will
obviously give you a vacation that you can enjoy
every year for as long as your timeshare ownership
last. It also helps you to have a predictable time
that you will be taking your vacation every year.
People are drawn to timeshares for both the
renting and buying options because it does give
you exactly what you want plus a certain time each
year to take that vacation.
Timeshares don~t have to be just for fun, they can
also provide a great investment opportunity for
you. Timeshares are a wonderful financial option
and the knowledge of this can give you an extra
sense of satisfaction whilst you enjoying a great
holiday.
You do have a lot of decisions to make when you
invest into a timeshare. First you want to make
sure that the property you are considering is
worth the price being asked for it, and be sure it
is somewhere you really want to spend your
holidays. Knowing how the timeshare sales,
resales, and rentals are going to be conducted is
also a very big and important part of information
that you need to be aware of.
