There are so many choices available for the perfect
honeymoon destination that it may to prospective newlyweds.
You want this trip to be filled with happy, and loving
memories that will last a lifetime. The wrong honeymoon
destination could be a huge disappointment.

When planning a honeymoon the first consideration is timing.
It used to be that people went on their immediately after
the wedding, usually leaving on the same night! It's
becoming increasingly common for couples to wait a few
months before taking their trip. The period following the
wedding may be anti-climatic, some couples experience
post-wedding blues. Delaying the honeymoon leaves something
to look forward to after the wedding. Some couples retreat
to a private bed and breakfast or for a "mini-moon" (a short
weekend getaway) right after the wedding.

Before you choose a destination for your honeymoon, decide
how much time you can take. If it is only going to be a week
then discount faraway places like Europe or Asia. You'll end
up being jet-lagged at both ends, leaving little time to
enjoy your destination. Remember also that you'll be losing
at least two of your days to travel. The Caribbean is an
excellent choice if you are taking a week-long honeymoon.
There are a number of islands to choose from, and most of
them offer great package deals. You can stay at an
all-inclusive luxury resort, where you will enjoy food,
drinks, and entertainment for a good price. If you want to
enjoy sunny beaches and each other's company, the Caribbean
might be just the right spot. It is great in the winter
months as well.

If your preferences run more towards skiing and snowboarding
there are many great honeymoon destinations in North
America. Consider some of the resort ski towns that offers a
variety of outdoor activities. Banff, Alberta is just such a
unique resort town in the middle of the Rockies. Banff is a
offers visitors plenty to do - with skiing, snowboard and a
town full of unique shops - it's a winter wonderland.

If you would rather stick close to home you could enjoy a
week at a quaint bed and breakfast that offers spa packages
such as massages. These getaways are a wonderful way to
relax and enjoy plenty of quite time together.

For those with an opportunity to enjoy two or more weeks
away on a honeymoon, there is an almost endless choice of
fabulous destinations around the world. The South Pacific is
an increasingly popular honeymoon destination. With
wonderful year-round weather, these luxury resorts treat you
as if you were royalty.

With so many choices it is important to decide what is most
important to you and your spouse-to-be before booking a
honeymoon. Taking time to browse through travel brochures
can be almost as much fun as actually travelling there! If
you choose carefully you will be left with fond memories
that will last you a lifetime.
